A HILLINGDON author has written an 84,000-word science fiction fantasy novel – at just 13 years of age.

Mekelle-Angel Owusu-Agyare, who goes by the pen name M. Angel, was at the launch of XXIV: Unbreakable on Saturday. It is the first in a planned four-part series.

Mekelle is thought to be the youngest published author in the borough. She has two siblings and attends Bishop Ramsey School in Ruislip.

She says she wrote her book because she wanted to share a message with others her age that they can achieve whatever it is they want to do.

She added: “I grew up chasing pigeons and complaining about school. I didn’t have very much to do, so I somehow ended up making stories in my head to fall asleep and it kind of evolved from there.

“One day, I want to walk into a place like Waterstones and see this book sat right in the middle of it, high and proud.

“Or maybe be the first child bestseller who makes a movie out of her book, but I think I’ve got a while to go [yet].”

Mekelle’s book is published by Conscious Dreams and is available for £14.99 from Amazon at www.tinyurl.com/xxivthebook
