A HILLINGDON nursing home has received funding to begin an arts project, Creating A Pride Of Place.
The money is from the Mayor of London’s Culture Seeds fund and is awarded to Parkfield House in Charville Lane West.
Residents work with professional artists to create items, like murals, ceramics and weavings, to be displayed in the home.
An exhibition, opening in June, will celebrate their achievements.

Home manager Wendy Bristow said: “Art is a big part of our activities programme here, and this project enables us to introduce residents to a whole range of new mediums and techniques.”
They have already started working with professional ceramicist Jeanne Lewistiff, making clay hens with jazzy patterns. These will be displayed in frames throughout the home.
Parkfield House is a 40-room home in a listed building on the borders of Hayes and Hillingdon.
