A POLICE team tackling moped crime made two arrests in Hillingdon today.
Officers from the Met’s Operation Venice detained a 21-year-old man and woman of 22 at a home in Bosanquet Close, Cowley, following a spate of robberies in which women were targeted for their handbags.
In the last week, police were called to 10 moped-related robberies in Hillingdon and two in Ealing. All were carried out in the afternoon or early evening.

The moped and helmets used have been recovered as evidence and both people remain in custody.
Det Insp Steve Brownlee said: "We are as committed as ever to tackling those who carry out moped-enabled crimes and, while we have been making excellent headway in reducing this type of crime, we are in no way complacent."
