A CHAIRMAN’S prize of £2,000, awarded to intu Uxbridge staff, has gone straight to their chosen charity, Halo Children’s Foundation.

The shopping centre came joint second in the annual into Chairman’s Corporate Responsibility Prize for its work in supporting the local community.

intu Uxbridge’s work with Halo, which supports children and their families after the loss of a loved one, has been a team effort which began in 2018 when it was named as the centre’s charity of the year.

The centre is now entering its second year of support for the charity and has a calendar of events planned to keep the money rolling in.

The charity effort for Halo includes a Be An Uxbridge Angel awareness campaign, in which people can place messages to lost loved ones on a mural.

Along with other fund-raising events, including Laser Maze and Santa’s grotto at Christmas, intu Uxbridge has introduced the charity to other fund-raisers, including Hayes and Yeading Football Club.

Laurie Taylor, general manager for intu Uxbridge, said: “Halo is the most wonderful charity and we truly believe in the work it does.”
