All weathers: Sobell volunteers selling their books
BOOK stall volunteers for the Michael Sobell Hospice Charity raised £18,000 last year from sales at the Amersham and Chesham weekly market, the Rickmansworth Christmas fair and Croxley Green and Chorleywood fetes.
The team, with an average age of 70, braved weathers to support the day hospice, which is fully funded by contributions.
Volunteer David Brameld said: “It’s hard work but very rewarding. More and more people are getting to know us and regularly support us with their book purchases and kind donations.”
