PUPILS and staff at Northwood College for Girls welcomed the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr John Morgan to open their refurbished Centenary Library and to give a talk to the junior school about his role.
One of the school’s four libraries, the Centenary moved to its current location in 1993 and its décor reflected that period.
An ambitious re-design began in June with the removal of the 15,000 books and associated archives.
Work included replacing the ceiling, which now extends up to the roof’s apex, new LED lighting and carpets, bookcases, sofas, occasional seating and work tables.
