A new outdoor table tennis table and picnic furniture have been installed in a popular park.

Orchard Park recently welcomed the new sports equipment to enable people to take up table tennis - one of a number of tables which have been put in Watford parks including Cassiobury Park.

The idea for this new initiative is to give children, young people and adults the opportunities to play table tennis as and when they wish. Playing on these tables is free - all children need to do is to turn up with bats and a ball and play with their friends and families.

Other enhancements to the recreation area have included new tennis courts and signage to rename the park Orchard Park following a public vote.

Nascot councillor Mark Hofman said: “These tables are brilliant fun for all the family, hopefully we’ll see more people picking up a bat and getting involved in sports locally. I’m sure these new outdoor table tennis tables will compliment as well as add value to the park’s other high-quality facilities.”
