A woman in her 80s had her purse stolen while in the Post Office.

She walked out of the Post Office in the High Street in Rickmansworth, with her husband on November 30, 2018 and went back to their car, which was parked near Boots, and went home.

Later that day, the victim received a call from Nationwide to say there was suspicious activity on her account.

Two separate withdrawals, totalling more than £3,500, had been made from her account. The victim checked her bag and realised her purse was missing.

One of the victim’s bank cards was later used to purchase jewellery at a shopping centre in Edmonton Green.

The victim’s bank has since refunded her the stolen money.
