Reports of antisocial behaviour at a house has forced police and the council to close it down.

Three Rivers District Council and Hertfordshire Constabulary have issued a closure order at an address in Oakhill Road, Maple Cross, with the help of a court magistrate.

The council’s community safety partnership, which also includes the housing association Home Group, achieved the three-month court order after gathering evidence which prevents anyone other than the tenant from going inside the property.

Cllr Roger Seabourne, lead member for community safety, said “Three Rivers District Council continues to take action against antisocial behaviour, crime and disorder - including cuckooing.

“We are committed and working in partnership with our residents, the police and housing providers to protect our communities. The closure orders demonstrate how determined we are to provide safe neighbourhoods in Three Rivers”.

A spokesperson for Three Rivers said its community safety partnership will continue to act against those suspected of being involved in cuckooing: using a vulnerable person’s home to sell drugs.
