Two cars crashed shutting a busy road during rush hour.
Emergency services were called to a collision in Watford Road, near Elstree, at 7.46am this morning.
Police decided to completely close the road between the A41 and Elstree Hill which caused long tailbacks.
The vehicles involved were a blue Lexus and a black Vauxhall Meriva. Minor injuries were reported to the people involved.
The Vauxhall, which ended up crashing into a fence, had to be recovered.
The road closure was lifted at 9.30am.
The crash did cause long delays between Elstree and Bushey Heath, which were not also helped by temporary lights in Elstree which have been in place for around two weeks.
The good news is Thames Water has completed its repair and the junction is back to normal.
