A man has been charged with the murder of a shopkeeper.

Alexander Gunn, 31, of no fixed address, was charged on Thursday with the murder of 54-year-old Ravi Katharkamar from Watford, after he was killed in Pinner on March 24.

Mr Gunn was also charged with robbery.

Gunn appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He had previously appeared at the same court on April 1 charged with burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon and driving whilst disqualified.

This follows an investigation by detectives from the Met Police's Homicide and Major Crime Command.

The investigation was launched after police were called at around 6am on March 24 to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in Marsh Road, Pinner.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but Mr Katharkamar died at the scene at 6.46am.
