A TEAM of five Northwood College sixth-formers came up with an ingenious fob device for wheelchair users on the bus.
It was their prize-winning submission for the annual Innovate TfL competition, which invites young people to help solve travel issues.
The traveller can activate the device when he or she arrives at a bus stop, to alert the driver of the nearest bus. In turn, the driver can activate a message for passengers and pushchair users to create space for the wheelchair.
Teams were asked to make a video presentation and the Northwood College girls, Anna Grenz, Daivi Shah, Jasreen Chadha, Priyanka Vithlani and Tanya Rangi, were awarded first prize.
Each was presented with a tablet computer and will enjoy work experience at TfL in July.
