Lamb carcasses have been found in bags in Borehamwood - and police say the tags found on the animals match the lambs that went missing from a country park.
Over the Easter bank holiday, Aldenham Country Park reported that four lambs and two goats had been stolen from its site and staff at the park appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.
It's believed the animals were taken on Sunday night.
Rural officers at Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed it came across the bags in Elstree Way on Wednesday. They say the lambs were clearly killed for meat.
Collars and tags found with the bags matched those of the missing lambs.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour at Aldenham Country Park on Sunday night or in Elstree Way on Wednesday to come forward.
Call police on 101 quoting 41/36222/19.
