Dozens of staff gave up their time to volunteer at an animal welfare centre.
Employees at Hightown Housing Association visited the National Animal Welfare Trust, based on the A41 near Bushey, where they got involved with some gardening, tidying up, and handy work.
Elsewhere in Watford, green-fingered staff helped out with gardening tasks at Hertfordshire Mind charity’s Green Minds centre - a horticultural, therapy and training centre offering volunteering and job opportunities. Hightown staff also painted the charity’s wellbeing centre.
Hertfordshire Mind, which delivers mental health support across the county, is Hightown’s chosen charity with more than £5,000 being raised in the last year.
Hightown chief executive David Bogle said: “Our annual staff conference provides a fantastic opportunity for us to really give something back to our local communities.
“It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and really helping out.”
