A traffic light trial appears to have caused major delays in Watford town centre this morning.
The ring road was gridlocked from Beechen Grove, near Waterfields Way, all the way round to the junction near Clarendon Road.
There were also tailbacks past Tesco and along Stephenson Way into town.
Hertfordshire County Council says a new signal phasing trial is taking place and warned this was causing queues in the surrounding area.
It's unknown how long this trial will last for.
All delays were cleared by 9.45am.
