A man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 63-year-old was hit by a car.
The 23-year-old was arrested yesterday (Sunday) and remains in police custody following a hit and run in Wiltshire on Friday.
A man died after he was struck by a vehicle on the A303 near Amesbury at around 4.50pm.
He was airlifted to hospital but died in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A police spokesman said the victim's family were being supported by specially trained officers.
The vehicle is believed to have intentionally hit the 63-year-old man before driving off and police are appealing for witnesses.
Thousands of people were at nearby Stonehenge celebrating Summer Solstice, which is the longest day of the year.
Det Supt Julie Mackay said: "We would like to speak anyone who may have seen this collision on Friday.
"This is a very busy road and I believe there would have been a number of drivers and road users who would have seen this incident.
"Also, if you have any dash-cam footage of this please come forward."
