An ex-volunteer will be marking her years of dedication to a charity which supports patients with life limiting illnesses with a night fundraiser walk.

Joan Morse, from Watford, will take part in Peace Hospice Care’s fundraising Starlight Walk to mark 21 years of her support for the charity.

Joan started as a volunteer for the charity in 1998, when she worked in the inpatient unit.

She no longer volunteers but has continued to support the charity by taking part in events and donating money.

She will now join hundreds of people who are walking in the memory of friends and family on Saturday at 8.30pm, starting at Cassiobury Park.

The night time walk offers the chance for people to take on a three, six or 13-mile route around Watford to raise money for the charity.

Joan said: “I know the Starlight Walk is going to be a wonderful event with the community walking together in memory while supporting a great cause.

“I have known people who have been supported by the charity and when I volunteered, I saw first-hand their fantastic work.

“It means a great deal to fundraise for them and to know that the money is going to help people facing such difficult times.”
