The restoration of a cemetery's iron gates has been completed after years of weathering caused some damage.
Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor has officially reopened the gates at 88-year-old North Watford Cemetery.
Extensive corrosion to the metal work and damage caused by years of weathering has been repaired by award winning heritage restorers Lost Art, which also restored the Edwardian bandstand in Cassiobury Park. New paint has also been applied to restore the gates to their former glory.
Mr Taylor said: "I’m really pleased that we have been able to properly restore the gates to the 88 year old North Watford Cemetery. The work is part of ongoing improvements cemetery, including the new lodge extension and landscaping of the grounds which have been awarded national Green Flag status. Preserving our heritage is really important and the new gates look fantastic."
