You will no longer have to travel all the way to London Oxford Street to shop for your favourite Uniqlo basics.

This is because the Japanese fashion retailer has announced it will be opening a new store in Watford on October 3.

The fashion brand - which already has stores in areas including London, Manchester, Oxford and Kent - will be opening a two-storey shop at intu Watford. It will be the fourth store outside of London as the retail chain expands across the UK.

Uniqlo's style has been compared to brands like Muji and Gap, as it focuses on plain and simple clothing classics.

Hillingdon Times:

intu Watford

Vicki Costello, general manager at intu Watford, said: “Intu’s investment in Watford has been focused on bringing the best mix of brands for Watford’s wide and affluent catchment population.

“intu Watford is now home to some of the biggest and most popular retailers in the world as well as unique and popular brands such as The Florist and Cote Brasserie. The combined mix of leisure such as bowling, indoor climbing and the cinema have made intu Watford a hugely popular destination during the day and evening.”

A number of others stores, restaurants and leisure operators have taken space at intu Watford’s extension since its launch last year, including Debenhams, Hugo Boss and Hollister, which opened last week.
