A MUM is warning others about a riverbank covered in rubbish.
Brittany Ashworth was out taking her son Oakley out for a walk by the brook near Barnes Street, Clayton-le-Moors, when she noticed the dumped mess.
The mother of one said she was disgusted by what they saw.
She said: “I had to move Oakley away from the rubbish because who knows what lies in a big heap like that, could be needles you never know.
“There’s rubbish in the water anyway, the water is filthy.
“All the older kids still go paddling but it’s not somewhere I would let my one-year old paddle in.”
The woodlands area near the little strip is popular among locals for taking walks.
Ms Ashworth said: “It’s horrendous.
“I don’t usually go down to the woodlands but thought it would be a nice walk for me and Oakley.
“The animals can’t have it good with the amount of rubbish around for sure.”
