A woman who used to volunteer to help others has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Sheila Tabb, who lives in Arden House in Abbots Langley, turned 100 last Thursday (August 8).
Ms Tabb, originally named Julia O'Connell, was born into a family of 10 siblings in Kilgarven, in the Republic of Ireland, in 1919.
She moved to England in 1938 and worked and lived in Ealing, London where she took on a variety of jobs. She later had four daughters.
She moved to Abbots Langley in 1999 but continued to help the elderly in the Ealing area as part of a volunteer programme.
In her mid-nineties, she had severe falls and had to move to Arden House. Despite turning 100, Sheila said she "does not feel any different".
