A planning appeal has been lodged after a proposal to create a KFC drive-thru was refused.
Euro Garages Ltd saw a scheme to build the popular fast-food restaurant next to a petrol station forecourt knocked back by a planning officer at Hertsmere Borough Council in July.
It was proposed on the A41 in Elstree.
As part of the plans, a car wash would have been demolished.
The council officer refused the plans because it was considered "inappropriate development" within the green belt.
The appeal will be determined on the basis of written representations and will be considered by a government planning inspector.
