A Lebanese restaurant is among nominations for a delivery service’s restaurant awards.

Voting has been opened for Deliveroo’s first ever Restaurant Awards, which will take place on October 17 in London.

Tarboush, in Market Street, Watford, is nominated for the ‘best vegan offering’ award among 19 categories for foodies to rate restaurants in a public vote.

Currently a longlist of nominations – with the public able to add any additional nominations – will be available until the second week of September. A shortlist for each category will then be published and the winners will be announced at the ceremony on October 17.

Deliveroo’s CEO Will Shu said: “Over the past six years, Deliveroo has been fortunate enough to work with over 20,000 British takeaways and restaurants and The Deliveroo Restaurant Awards is just the latest way we’re helping to celebrate our amazing restaurant partners.”

Categories range from as traditional as ‘best burger’ and ‘most loved chain’, to more unique categories like ‘most Instagram-mable dish’ and ‘most innovative dish’.

While votes are now open to the public, the ‘restaurant of the year’ award will be chosen by a panel of industry judges, including food critic Giles Coren and Mr Shu.

Members of the public who vote have the chance to win £500 in Deliveroo credit to chow-down on whatever food they desire.

West End actress of the show Waitress and former Strictly Come Dancing finalist, Ashley Roberts, will be hosting the evening.
