AUSSIE, a labrador cross, is celebrating his first anniversary in his new home after spending three and a half years at Dogs Trust West London, Harefield.
His presence has also had an unexpected health benefit to his new owner, Anita.
Having suffered from insomnia for many years, she has seen a huge improvement in her sleep patterns since sleeping next to Aussie.

She said: “No doctor ever prescribed a dog for my insomnia, but Aussie has been the best medicine the world had to offer.
“Adopting him was one of the happiest and most memorable days of my life.”
Rehoming centre manager Richard Moore said: “When some of your longest-term dogs find their forever homes, it really is a special day for everyone.”
