Drivers were caught up in heavy delays in Bushey this morning following flooding on the road.
It was due to a burst water main, which left people stuck in long queues on the A41 along North Western Avenue heading towards Watford, as well as Elstree Road heading east.
Repairs were carried out by Affinity Water to the water main, who say traffic is starting to return to normal.
Police were also at the scene this morning after receiving reports of the flooding.
A spokesperson said: “Police received reports this morning about a possible burst water main on the A41. Officers attended and liaised with the water company who were dealing with the problem.”

Yesterday a burst water pipe caused severe flooding in Dagger Lane, Elstree, with people leaving their homes and being moved into hotel rooms.
Works are still underway by Affinity Water to repair the damage to the water pipe.
Connor Simpson, 21, who lives in Dagger Lane, said the water in the area was like “rapids”.
He said: “The water has damaged all our stuff. If you walk on the floorboard in the house, it is like standing on a surfboard.
“This is not good at all and my fiancé and I are very upset at the situation.”
