DETECTIVES investigating an assault in Uxbridge are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police were called at around 1.20pm on Thursday, August 1, to reports of a man assaulted at a bus stop in Vine Street.

The victim, in his late 20s, said he had been attacked by another man, who deliberately barged into him, leading to an argument.

He told the suspect to go away and was about to board a bus when he was repeatedly punched and fell to the ground, suffering facial injuries.

Officers are now releasing an image of a man they are keen to interview. He is believed to be in his mid-20s and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a blue T-shirt at the time.

It’s thought at least one passer-by recorded the assault on a mobile phone.
