A GROUP of friends from Ruislip and Eastcote are organising a Brew Together fund-raising event on October 12 for Bowel Cancer UK.

The group is led by Gina Wallis, 60, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year.

She said: “I was one of the lucky ones as it was caught early. However, I know so many are not so lucky. I would really like to raise awareness and highlight this cancer. If it is caught early enough, lives can be saved.”

Bowel Cancer UK is calling on the nation to put the kettle on and host a Brew Together from Monday-Sunday, October 7-13.

Whether it’s at home, in a community hall or at work, it’s a chance to catch up with friends over a cup of tea and make a donation.
