A MAN who died in an unprovoked stabbing at Hillingdon station was today named as 20-year-old Tashan Daniel.

Officers were called to the station just before 4pm yesterday (24) after reports of a fight on the platform.

Paramedics were quickly on the scene and attempted to save Tashan. However, despite their best efforts, he died on board a Tube carriage.

There have not yet been any arrests.

It is believed Tashan and a friend were waiting for a London-bound Piccadilly Line train as they were heading to an Arsenal football match. Two other men then entered the station.

The unknown men provoked a fight with the victim and his friend and, at one point, one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed Tashan.

Both suspects then left the station in the direction of Auriol Drive, where they were seen by witnesses. A knife was recovered nearby.

Det Chief Insp Sam Blackburn said: “Tashan was an upstanding young man. He had only just celebrated his 20th birthday and was heading into London to watch Arsenal play. He did not deserve to lose his life during this senseless attack.

“His family are completely broken by this news and we are doing everything we can to offer them support. Over the coming days we will have extra officers on patrol in the Hillingdon area and detectives are speaking with residents.

“I am also appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. We know both men fled the scene in the direction of Auriol Drive. I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

“Likewise, we’d be keen to speak with any motorist with dashcam footage from Auriol Drive or outside Hillingdon station at approx 3.45-4pm yesterday.”
