A Japanese clothes store will be opening in Watford this Thursday as part of an £180 million expansion plan.

Uniqlo will join intu Watford after taking over a two storey unit with a sales space of around 892 square meters.

Taku Morkawa, chief executive officer of Uniqlo, said the company was excited to be opening in Watford ahead of the launch.

He said: “The launch of Uniqlo in Watford represents another exciting moment for us in the UK, as we continue to expand our presence in this important market for the company worldwide.

“We are very excited to be able to offer Uniqlo LifeWear to the people of Watford and show how our high quality, comfortable and functional clothing can help improve their everyday lives.”

Uniqlo items at the new intu Watford store will include the company’s signature heat tech, cashmere, airism and ultra light down products, along with jeans, and UTs (Uniqlo t-shirts).
