Refurbishment work being carried out to transform Hollywood Bowl is nearly complete.

The work, which began at the start of September, is part of a £350,000 investment into the centre at Watford’s Woodside leisure park. It will see the bowling venue revealed as a latest generation entertainment centre.

Due for completion for the October school half term holidays, the refurbishment will see Hollywood Bowl bring its American décor and advanced technology to the town.

Guests will be able to try a range of American-style dishes from the new Hollywood Diner menu - including a range of gourmet burgers, hot dogs, freshly made milkshakes and a selection of signature desserts.

Joining the Diner will be an American-style bar offering speciality cocktails, and four American pool tables for those wanting to sit back and relax before or after a game.

As part of the ongoing project, the centre will also see the makeover of its 27 lanes, as well as its 5 VIP lanes.

Jan Smith, centre manager at Watford Woodside, said: “We’re so excited to bring the iconic Hollywood Bowl experience to the people of Watford.

“The centre is set to have a glamorous makeover and we’re delighted to be able to continue to give customers the best family entertainment experience, as we’re refurbished to a new generation Hollywood Bowl.

“We’ll remain open for business as usual until all the work is complete so the people of Watford can be rest assured, they can still get their bowling fix!”

Hollywood Bowl’s amusement area is also being upgraded to feature leading game such as Space Invaders, Mario Kart and Grand Piano Keys.

There is also an opportunity to ‘Play for Prizes’, where visitors can win tickets on their favourite games and exchange them for fun goodies.

Hollywood Bowl will continue to remain open as usual during the renovations, which is due for completion on October 23.
