A year-long celebration of culture and creativity will take place in the county.

A networking event at the Watersmeet in Rickmansworth last Monday was held to herald Hertfordshire Year of Culture 2020.

The event was in partnership with online community, Creative Hertfordshire, and enabled artists, schools, clubs and other organisation to hear more about the celebration which will take place for a year.

The Year of Culture will showcase Hertfordshire as a county of creative and cultural opportunity.

The campaign aims to share and explore the county’s arts, culture and heritage and show pathways to education, employment in creative and cultural industries.

People who attended the event heard about what they can expect to see and how to get involved.

Lead member for leisure Cllr Chris Lloyd said: “It was great to see so many diverse people come together, network and get excited about the year ahead.

“I am looking forward to seeing their ideas and contributions to come to life.”
