STAFF at Dogs Trust West London put on a birthday party for a pooch that was handed in on his seventh birthday.
Bud, a shih tzu, didn’t have a happy day as his previous owner had to give him up as his landlord no longer allowed dogs.
Staff at the Harefield rehoming centre couldn’t let Bud go into kennels without throwing him a party to cheer him up.
His presents included a new squeaky toy, which he proudly carried back to his kennel.
Centre manager Richard Moore said: “It’s always sad when a dog is handed in due to a change in the owner’s circumstances outside of his control.

“Bud’s story particularly pulled on our heartstrings as he was handed in on his actual birthday.
“He is a gentle dog who has a very relaxed temperament. He has always lived with a Staffy companion, though he had to come into kennels by himself.
“He is looking for a home with another dog. Bud is always happy to meet people and is an affectionate chap.”
If you think you could provide a home for birthday boy Bud, or you’re interested in rehoming any of the other dogs at Harefield, call the centre 01895 544 544 or drop in.
