IT brought the streets around Parliament to a standstill and activists glued themselves to planes at London City Airport.
Now, thanks to Ealing Central and Acton MP Rupa Huq, a bit of last week’s Extinction Rebellion protest has made its way to Ealing.
Lammas Park Enclosure was the site chosen to plant a tree she received from the group.
Dr Huq planted the field maple on Sunday as part of the #reforestearth campaign to encourage tree planting.
Formerly a disused tennis court, the Enclosure now boasts a community orchard, outdoor classroom, edible garden beds and a range of edible trees and shrubs.
The MP said: “It was great to discover yet another hidden gem in my constituency.”
