The Shadow Brexit Secretary was in Watford lending his support to Labour's general election hopes.
Sir Keir Starmer MP joined Watford Labour members at the Jury's Inn on Wednesday night for an annual gala dinner.
Sir Keir predicted that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will call a general election once a Brexit extension is secured - and described Watford as a "key seat" for his party.
Speaking in front of parliamentary candidate Chris Ostrowski, Labour councillors, and members, Sir Keir said: "The Tories are trying to impose the most damaging Brexit on the British people and we have fought them effectively to stop this disaster.
"We need a general election to sweep the Tories away. Watford is a key seat and Chris (Ostrowski) is the only candidate who can defeat the Tories here.
"A Labour government would give people the final say on Brexit and I would campaign for Remain in that referendum."
Mr Ostrowski added: "I am so grateful to Keir Starmer for finding the time to come and support us here in Watford. Coming so soon after Jeremy Corbyn’s visit, it shows that Watford is a battleground seat that we can win to bring about change in Britain." The gala dinner raised £1,500 for Watford Labour's election campaign.
