ELLESMERE’s annual Shoppers’ Lunch has raised more than £1,400.

More than 11 guests got into the festive spirit and browsed the many stalls selling everything from Christmas cards to cheeses.

They also tucked into wonderful food prepared by members of Age UK North Shropshire Supporters (NSS) and St Mary’s Church fundraising group.

Mark Spurdens, chairman of the fundraising group and treasurer of Age UK NSS said: “We rely on the generosity of all those who buy, make and donate food to the event and are very grateful for everyone’s support.”

And Anne Wignall, chairman of Age UK NSS added: “A big thank you to our volunteers who worked so hard to make the lunch such an enjoyable occasion and to our guests for supporting us.

"We hope to see you again next year!”
