Local councils deal with thousands of planning applications every year.

They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.

Here are some of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.

1) Land Between School and The Harrow Old Studley Arms Water End Road, Studley Green: A proposal for the erection of a four-bed detached dwelling with associated driveway.

Bucks Free Press:

2) Hughenden Chase, Denner Hill Road, Denner Hill: An application for the removal of earlier single and two-storey extensions and replacement with new single and two storey extensions providing a guest annex, car parking, and a glazed link to a new single-storey kitchen and dining space and replacement of existing pool house with new woodland studio. This project would add more facilities to the house as well as refining other existing aspects.

3) Denmark Street, Eden, High Wycombe: A change of use for siting of a converted shipping container for use as a hot food outlet with external tables and benches. This plan will see a hot food outlet called ‘Pizza 1889’ start business opposite Tesco in the Eden Centre. ‘Pizza 1889’ plans to be open from 11:30am to 10:00pm daily.

4) Beechwood Park 70 and Land to Rear Of 72 Beech Tree Road Holmer Green: Erection of two detached dwellings with integral garages and creation of revised vehicular access. A big building project if approved.

5) 108 High Street, Amersham: Listed building consent for a single storey rear extension. Amersham High Street is known for its beautiful old buildings, so even for slight changes and smaller extensions approval is always needed due to these buildings being protected.
