A pet owner whose “happy and affectionate” cat was murdered described his killer as “pure evil”.

Chris Poore, from Bushey, says his cat Odin was left to “drown in his own blood” after he was shot through the lungs in a private garden not far from his home in Ashfield Avenue on Monday, November 11.

The 43-year-old adopted Odin four years ago after finding him on the street without any chip or owner contact details.

He says the killing has left both him and his partner Sarah “crushed”.

He continued: “Whoever did this to our dear baby boy is nothing more than low life scum, pure wicked and evil.

“I don’t know how someone could do such a thing.”

Mr Poore says Odin had gone into a garden when he went for a walk just after lunch when he was murdered.

Hillingdon Times:

Odin was murdered on Monday, November 11

He believes someone with an air-rifle leaned over the fence from an alleyway and shot the cat.

Odin had been rushed to the vet by someone who found him – and around 2.30pm Mr Poore received a call from the vet saying his cat was dead.

“At first they thought he’d been run over,” Mr Poore said. “We couldn’t leave him there so we brought him home.

“I thought it was strange there were no injuries but some dry blood on his back.”

It was only after a post-mortem that it was discovered Odin had been shot. An air-rifle pellet was found in Odin’s chest following an X-ray.

Speaking about Odin, Mr Poore said: “He was a real character, very much an outdoors cat. He was really friendly and happy and always incredibly affectionate.

“He would sit on my shoulder while watching television. We miss his little noises he’d make every day.”

Now Mr Poore is appealing for anyone with information about the killer to contact police.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary quoting police reference 41/102868/19.
