PUPILS from Oswestry School have returned from an annual skiing competition with a haul of medals and trophies.

A mixture of 30 boys and girls attended School Ski Competition at Telford Ski Slope on Friday, November 15.

The school entered nine teams across the under-12 to U19 age groups where all pupils had three runs each down a slalom course.

The U12 boys, brothers Toby and Elliot Woodman, Rory Ford and Arthur Bearman came first in their age group as a team event.

The U19 boys also reached the podium achieving first place with Aleksa Popvic, Alexandru Constantin, Erik Jücker and Laurence Bowen in their team event.

Fastest male and female in the U19 category was awarded to Aleksa Popovic and Lucy Hughes.

Director of sport, Dominic Bradburne, said: “A massive congratulations and well done to these pupils and all those who took part. It is a niche sport here at Oswestry which we continually support as part of our ski provision, along with the annual school ski trip.”
