A BRING and buy sale took place in Ellesmere on Saturday to raise funds for BBC Children in Need and one of the children's squads at the local football club.

The event, organised by Kerry Dubicki, took place at Ellesmere Rangers Club's ground in Beech Grove.

Kerry was delighted with the support shown and said that she had decided to organise the event to raise money for two important causes – the football team her sons play for and for the BBC's national charity, Children in Need, which took place earlier this month.

"Everyone got's stuff to get rid of at Christmas," said Kerry, whose sons play in the Under-8s and U9s teams.

"So I thought why not organise something doubly for the two things.

"I just wanted to combine raising money for such a good charity and the U9s, which one of my sons plays for.

"The money raised for the U9s team will go towards buying equipment and kits etc."

Guests were able to sit down and enjoy a hot drink and other refreshments; and tuck into cakes – courtesy of Ellesmere's Tesco.

"Tesco have kindly donated all of the tea and coffee and refreshments which is great," Kerry added.
