THE acclaimed Ealing Music & Film Festival returns from February 12– 16th with its salute to the borough’s cultural heritage.

It will be held in partnership with the University of West London, where many of the events will take place.

The festival opens with a lunchtime concert by woodwind ensemble The Thorne Trio on the 12th at St Mary’s Church, South Ealing.

Other classical events include the Ealing Symphony Orchestra, Ealing Youth Orchestra alongside the London Mozart Players plus a screening of Opera Holland Park Un Ballo in Maschera.

On the 14th, in conjunction with Ealing Classic Cinema Club, there are two cinema classics, the 1945 gem Brief Encounter and Ken Russell’s Tommy (1975) featuring Pete Townshend’s songs.

This year, there is a slew of workshops including percussion and music technology.
