VOTERS this week face the unusual prospect of battling their way to the polls in adverse weather conditions.
To help prevent a chill in turnout, a parking app is offering them free parking on election day.
JustPark is allowing customers 30 minutes of free parking in its spaces near polling stations via a dedicated page on its website.
The election day page allows users to search for parking spaces near their polling station and reserve a free space for half an hour.
Research for JustPark found that 20% more people are planning to travel by car to place their vote for this election.
Former Home Secretary Alan Johnson, who launched the JustPark offer, said: “Being able to park, free of charge, close to the polling station will make a significant contribution to voter turnout."
