HEATHROW Airport is launching an eight-week public consultation to round off its plans for airport expansion.
It follows the recent decision by aviation regulator, the CAA, to cap early spending on the project.
Heathrow must now re-model key aspects of its plans, including public transport to and from the airport, to show targets can be met.
The consultation will run from April to June, ensuring communities can review and give feedback. Responses will feed into the final planning application, to be submitted towards the end of 2020.
If it is approved by the Secretary of State, a third runway is expected to open between early 2028 and late 2029.
Geraldine Nicholson, of campaign group Stop Heathrow Expansion, said: “This third runway proposal is becoming a bit of a joke.
“We are asked to engage with yet another consultation so Heathrow can sow destruction on our environment for the benefit of its overseas shareholders.
“Residents just want the project to be scrapped at the very earliest opportunity.”
