Hello, my name is Doris Day and I’m a beautiful two-year-old Dutch rabbit.

I arrived at the National Animal Welfare Trust in September 2019 following a big change in my family’s circumstances and I was very frightened.

I’ve had some time to settle in now and am beginning to realise that everyone here is very gentle and there is nothing to be scared of. I’m not completely used to being handled yet so I will need a patient owner who will spend time with me. I’m sure with a bit of love and attention we’ll soon bond.

Hillingdon Times:

We Dutch rabbits are known for being intelligent, gentle and easy to train.

We need lots of social interaction and thrive on affection – the perfect pet if you have lots of love to give. We also need lots of toys and stimulation to keep boredom at bay.

I don’t know why I’m named after the actress Doris Day but I do know she loved animals.

Hillingdon Times:

I’m looking for a home with adults or families with children aged five and over where the adults will do most of the handling. I’ll need to live outdoors in a large hutch with an attached run so I can hop around, twitch my nose at all the interesting smells and generally be cute to watch.

If you think I could be your bunny, come and cuddle me at the centre.
