THE first patient was admitted on Wednesday (15) to the newly refurbished Michael Sobell Hospice in-patient unit at Northwood.
Miriam Miles, 66, who was diagnosed with breast cancer more than six years ago, will now work with the physio and hospice team to regain use of her legs
She said, of her experience: “I didn’t know there were so many angels around.
“I followed the petition campaign to save the hospice and I’m living proof it was worth every bit of the struggle.”
MSH spokesperson Ophelia Chambers-Henry said: “We need to maximise our fund-raising efforts to ensure this vital service continues for many more years.”
