An appreciation club has been set up for a DPD delivery driver in Welshpool - and he's now received an 'Amazing Award' for his hard work.

The 'Charandit Appreciation Club', for delivery driver Charandit Singh, came into being after a comment on a Welshpool community Facebook page prompted people to share their "personal appreciation of the positive vibes this guy gives off".

Di Davies said: "Certainly I know if I'm having a delivery I know it'll be on time and he will always have a friendly greeting and a kindly manner, I actually look forward to seeing Mr Singh even more than having the delivery."

Di found out that DPD recognise and reward its staff for excellent service, and encouraged Charandit's fans to give him some positive feedback on the delivery company's website.

"Wouldn't it be nice if we could return his positivity," he said.

Under Di's post, over 40 people commented showing their appreciation for Charandit.

Lisa Davies said: "I'm so glad you've done this, I find him just the nicest man. He's always smiling and waving. I'll definitely leave feedback, he us simply the best."

Kim Simister said: "He gave my children a packet of biscuits on two occasions and they now think he's the best delivery driver in the world."

County Times staff have met Charandit too when we were out asking questions on the street. He didn't just want a picture of himself: he wanted the reporter and another person we asked in it too!

County Times:

Welshpool succeeded, and Charanjit has now received an 'Amazing Award' from DPD.

Simon Barlow from DPD's Oldbury depot said: "Charanjit Singh is a top delivery driver and we regularly get messages from his customers praising him. Our Amazing Awards are just meant to be a little 'thank you' to recognise those people who go 'above and beyond' for customers. It shows that people really appreciate what the guys do day in, day out and it is fantastic to know how much they are valued."

Charanjit has received a special mug as well as a small gift or cash bonus for winning the award.
