TEN years of memories is the focus of this summer’s Ladies In The Night walk in aid of Michael Sobell Hospice.

It is hoped more than 1,000 walkers will turn out for the event, which starts from Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, on Friday, June 19.

“Since [our] in-patient unit reopened, we’ve seen so many of our supporters wanting to give something back and get involved,” said Ophelia Chambers-Henry, hospice charity events manager.

“This is our biggest fund-raising event of the year, so it’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to get behind us.”

The recent refurbishment of the hospice in-patient unit, fully funded by the charity, cost £385,000, including the creation of new side wards, additional toilets, three wet rooms, privacy screens in shared areas, a new kitchen, more modern reception and cafe area, as well as additional furniture.

An early bird sign-up offer of £14 is now available for the walk via the website or you can pick up a registration form at its charity shops in Northwood, Eastcote or Ruislip.

A team offer of £12 is also available for teams of 10 or more. Both offers are available until the end of the month.

Allsop Durn Solicitors, of Ruislip, are sponsoring the event for the third year running.
