A NEW appeal to support hard-pressed NHS staff at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood, and its sister hospitals has been launched.
The #HereForEachOther campaign is an opportunity to say thank-you to staff for their efforts at this difficult time.
Funds raised by the East & North Herts Hospitals’ Charity will support the physical and emotional wellbeing of staff.
They could also go towards extra medical equipment, support services, cutting-edge research projects and refurbishment of the hospitals.
Beth McNeil, the charity’s Supporter Relationship Manager, said: “Due to coronavirus (COVID-19), we are facing an unprecedented demand for NHS services and are working incredibly hard to ensure we continue to provide care for our patients while also looking after our staff.
“We are hugely grateful for the kindness and generosity already shown by the community, but we are following government guidance and limiting the number of visitors to our hospitals.
This includes coming on to site to donate goods or items for staff and patients.
“Instead, our #HereForEachOther campaign is an opportunity for people to say thank-you and show their appreciation.”
