Strictly Come Dancing favourite Giovanni Pernice is back with a brand new show for 2020 - and he is planning a visit to High Wycombe.

The showman is set to light up the stage, along with his cast of professional dancers, for his fourth year of touring.

He will be bringing the show - entitled ‘This is Me’ - to the Wycombe Swan in a reschedule show on Thursday, July 2.

With the Italian’s natural charm, combined with beautiful choreography perfectly complemented by a fabulous soundtrack, This is Me pays homage to the music and dances that have inspired Giovanni’s career, from a competition dancer to one of the biggest names on the hit BBC show.

Born in Sicily, the Italian dancer specialises in Latin.

At the age of 14, he moved to Bologna to concentrate on the profession and receive training from some of the best teachers in the world.

Between 2007 and 2014, Giovanni competed on a professional level at competitions across the world, from Moscow and Malta to Belgrade and Belgium.

In 2012, he won the Italian Open Latin Championships with dance partner Erika Attisano, and came second place in the International Open Latin in Slovenia in 2014.

Giovanni joined Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer in 2015.

He was paired with former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote, with whom he reached the finals of the competition.

Giovanni went on to reach the finals a further two times with celebrity dance partners Debbie McGee and Faye Tozer, in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

In 2019, Giovanni was partnered with TV judge and personality Michelle Visage, from Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

The pair were voted off after performing at Blackpool.

Giovanni is also the current holder of two Guinness World Records, for the number of jive kicks and flicks and for the number of Charleston swivel steps performed in 30 seconds.

For the former, he performed 55, and for the latter, he correctly completed 24.

The professional dancer recently revealed on his social media pages that This Is Me will be the only tour he will be doing in 2020 and an extra five weeks have been added to the schedule.

Pernice says he wants to make this his ‘biggest and best ever tour to date’.

Giovanni Pernice brings This is Me to the Wycombe Swan in a rescheduled performance on Thursday, July 2, at 7.30pm.
