One more coronavirus patient being cared for at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust has died.

NHS England today confirmed the latest death, which occurred on April 1, at the trust which manages Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow and Ealing Hospital.

The trust's total of 160 deaths is the second highest in the UK.

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths that were first recorded in the last 24 hours may actually have taken place days earlier.

NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure."

Across England a further 555 people have died, taking the number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 4,494.

The patients were aged between 33 years and 103 years old.

Some 29 patients had no known underlying health conditions.

NHS England said in a statement: "A further 555 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 4,494.

"Patients were aged between 33 years and 103 years old. 29 of the 555 patients (aged between 35 and 95 years old) had no known underlying health condition.
