With so many major and regional airlines having grounded their fleets I was rather surprised to learn that many, if not all, UK airports were still open but at least they give employment to people who might otherwise be made redundant.

According to a government spokesman, up to 15,000 people arrive at those airports every day. It seems none of the arrivals are tested for the virus or receive any medical checks.

If 15,000 people daily dodged the lockdown there would be uproar but testless airport arrivals seem to be Government policy. This is possibly due to lack of test kits. Assuming the Government reaches its target of 100,000 tests a day it might be possible to test arrivals although after treating hospitals, care homes and people wanting to get back to work there may be insufficient kits for arrivals and the Government would need to up its game.

Whatever happens weeks will have been lost. Some dynamism would not come amiss.
